He described the Acharya's life as a remarkable synthesis of sacrifice, penance, and compassion.
Sharma spoke at the divine discourse event held at the Sanganer Camp Office, where he reaffirmed the government's dedication to fostering and safeguarding all faiths. He encouraged residents to embrace the teachings of Jain monks and integrate them into their everyday practices.
He remarked, "The existence of Jain monks embodies profound spiritual discipline; they forgo earthly delights and adhere to a path of renunciation."
The Chief Minister emphasized that the legacy of Acharya Shri Sundar Sagar Ji Maharaj imparts valuable lessons about humility, the strength found in non-violence, and the joy derived from detachment.
He highlighted that Jainism offers insights on leading a fulfilling life and noted that the 24 Tirthankaras have guided humanity towards righteousness throughout history. Sharma also pointed out the importance of the Five Great Vows of Jainism—non-violence, truth, non-stealing, celibacy, and non-possession—in today’s consumer-driven society, reminding participants that genuine happiness arises from internal satisfaction rather than external acquisitions.
He assured that the state government is committed to promoting Jain values and is actively involved in enhancing the infrastructure of Jain pilgrimage sites. This includes ensuring adequate road access, drinking water, sanitation, and security measures for these spiritual locations.
During the event, the Chief Minister received the honorary title of “Matri Bhu Sevak.”
Earlier, Sharma paid homage to all Jain monks, accompanying them from Shri Adinath Temple at SFS Mansarovar to the Sanganer Camp Office, a journey celebrated with grand receptions, floral tributes, and band performances.
Among those present were Acharya Shri Sundar Sagar Ji Maharaj, Acharya Shashank Ji Maharaj, Minister of State for Cooperation Shri Gautam Kumar Dak, Jaipur Greater Deputy Mayor Shri Puneet Karnawat, numerous Jain monks, and a large gathering of devotees.
