The Chief Minister noted that cyber crime should be addressed as a priority. In regions experiencing a surge in such crimes, specialized operations should be conducted against cyber crime syndicates, and these initiatives must persist until these crimes are completely eradicated from the area.
Emphasizing that the state has witnessed a significant decline in crime over the past two years, Sharma directed officials to evaluate progress every 10 days. He cautioned that accountability will be enforced in cases of negligence or laxity.
Stressing the importance of modern policing, the Chief Minister stated that as crimes evolve to become more technology-driven, police must also embrace advanced technologies and contemporary methods to effectively combat criminals.
Sharma stated that drug abuse is a fundamental cause of crime and has detrimental long-term effects on families and society at large. He instructed officials to promote awareness initiatives in schools and colleges regarding the harmful impacts of drugs.
He also requested police to collaborate with social organizations to raise public awareness about the POCSO Act and other relevant laws.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, and senior police officials. Inspector Generals and Superintendents of Police from various districts participated in the meeting via video conferencing.
