Jaipur, Nov 26 (NationPress) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended Ramesh Chandra Bairagi, the General Manager of Tilam Sangh Kota, on Wednesday after he was caught in the act of receiving a bribe amounting to Rs 30,000.

This operation was initiated by the ACB Outpost Baran unit based on directives from the ACB headquarters.

As reported by ACB Director General Govind Gupta, a complaint was lodged alleging that Bairagi had solicited a total bribe of Rs 1,45,000. This sum comprised Rs 1,00,000 for the allocation of land intended for a support price procurement center in Palaitha, located in Baran district, along with an extra Rs 45,000 at a rate of Rs 1 per 'katta' for the procurement of 45,000 katta of wheat from the previous year.

After confirming the complaint, a trap was established under the oversight of Deputy Inspector General Anand Sharma from the ACB Kota Range.

The operation was spearheaded by Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Ram Verma, with assistance from Deputy Superintendent of Police Premchand and the ACB Baran team.

During the sting operation, the accused received Rs 30,000 from the complainant, identified as Dhannalal, and concealed the cash in the left pocket of his jacket.

The bribe was recovered from him, leading to his immediate arrest. Under the guidance of Additional Director General Smita Srivastava, further questioning is ongoing, and a search of his residence is being executed.

A case will be initiated against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, with further investigations to follow.
