Jaipur, Feb 14 (NationPress) Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde on Saturday encouraged farmers in Binjwadiya village to embrace organic farming techniques to boost agricultural sustainability and prosperity.
“I hold a deep connection to agriculture. Being a farmer myself, I recognize the difficulties of cultivation and ploughing. Farming is crucial, yet it is a challenging profession due to its reliance on nature,” stated the Governor during his attendance at an exhibition linked to the fruit and vegetable value addition training program, which was organized under the social responsibility initiative of Agriculture University Jodhpur.
He praised the farmers for establishing farm ponds, acknowledging their commitment to enhancing water conservation and productivity.
Emphasizing the importance of education, the Governor stated that a child’s education should extend beyond obtaining certificates—it should foster intellectual development.
He underlined the necessity of quality education for every child and the improvement of living standards in rural communities.
Bagde also acknowledged the vital role of women in agriculture, asserting, "Our mothers and sisters are the custodians of our culture and tradition, and they play a crucial role in farming activities."
Regarding national advancement, the Governor credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for guiding India towards becoming a global power.
He pointed out significant welfare schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which offers financial assistance to farmers, the Swachh Bharat Mission, which has facilitated the construction of household toilets, enhancing sanitation and dignity, and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, which has made LPG cylinders available to every family, thereby improving health and living conditions.
During the event, farmers showcased modern agricultural innovations, including a carrot washing machine and a luring machine.
Moreover, indigenous livestock breeds like Tharparkar cattle, Marwari horses, Sirohi goats, and Avishan sheep were presented, highlighting advances in animal husbandry.
