Jaipur, Dec 4 (NationPress) Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated on Thursday that Rajasthan is reaching new heights in its development journey, with the state government striving to engage non-resident Rajasthanis actively in this progress.
In this regard, the government is set to host a grand Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas on December 10, encouraging participation from all sectors of society and the economy.
CM Sharma has invited All India and various Central Service officers of Rajasthani origin stationed across the nation to attend the event, pointing out that their contributions have been crucial in establishing Rajasthan as a burgeoning investment destination. Their expertise, insights, and connections, he added, are essential for propelling the state's growth and luring new investments.
The Chief Minister addressed a video conference from his residence with All India and Central Service officers of Rajasthani origin located in various states, convened to prepare for the upcoming Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas.
He highlighted that Rajasthan, being the largest state in the country by area, possesses significant investment potential. The government is making steady efforts in crucial sectors such as tourism, energy, water, power, and industry to unlock this potential.
CM Sharma emphasized that during last year's Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, MoUs totaling Rs 35 lakh crore were signed, and groundbreaking ceremonies have already commenced for projects valued at Rs 7 lakh crore, signaling robust investor confidence in the state.
He noted that officers of Rajasthani origin maintain a heartfelt connection not only with their current locations but also with their home state. Many have introduced remarkable innovations and best practices in their fields.
Describing these officers as a crucial bridge between the state government and the global Rajasthani diaspora, he urged them to encourage non-resident Rajasthanis, entrepreneurs, and investors to explore opportunities in Rajasthan across various sectors. He also called on them to participate actively in the upcoming Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas and provide their valuable suggestions for the state's advancement.
CM Sharma underscored that non-resident Rajasthanis have garnered global recognition through their dedication, initiative, and leadership, thus enhancing the state's prestige both nationally and internationally.
To further solidify this bond and institutionalize support for the diaspora, the government has launched a dedicated Non-Resident Rajasthani Department that prioritizes the interests, concerns, and challenges of Rajasthani origin individuals residing outside the state.
He expressed optimism that the forthcoming Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas would energize diaspora engagement and create fresh avenues for investment, innovation, and development in Rajasthan.
During the conference, officers acknowledged the Chief Minister's initiative to connect officials of Rajasthani origin with their home state and its development agenda.
They reaffirmed their emotional connection to Rajasthan and commended the government's efforts to promote investment through improved ease of doing business measures and industry-friendly policies.
Officers also shared insights from their respective states, providing constructive suggestions in areas like reinforcing the single-window clearance system, branding and marketing tourism, urban development planning, eco-tourism, logistics and warehousing, and boosting investment in textiles and other pivotal sectors.
Several All India and Central Service officers—including Manoj Joshi, Vivek Bhardwaj, Babulal Meena, Anju Sharma, O.P. Gupta, Tanmay Kumar, Sunil Paliwal, Naresh Pal Gangwar, among others—shared their suggestions and observations via video conferencing.
Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and senior officials from the state government were also in attendance during the meeting.
