New Delhi, April 20 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid a visit to the revered Subramanya Swami Temple in Tiruchendur, Tamil Nadu, on Monday. During his visit, Rajnath Singh expressed that he felt blessed to encounter the divine energy emanating from this ancient place of worship.
He shared his experience on social media platform 'X', stating, "I prayed at the sacred Sri Subramanya Swami Temple in Tiruchendur (Tamil Nadu). I feel truly blessed to witness the divine energy of this Temple."
This temple is a significant Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Murugan (the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati). It is situated in Tiruchendur, within the Thoothukudi District of Tamil Nadu. Recognized as one of the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan, it uniquely rests by the seaside, while the other five are located in mountainous regions. The temple overlooks the Bay of Bengal, with its shores kissed by the waves from the Gulf of Mannar.
On April 19, Rajnath Singh reaffirmed the Union government's commitment to implement 33 percent reservation for women in both Parliament and state Assemblies, despite a recent setback in the Lok Sabha regarding the quota bill.
At an election rally in Tamil Nadu, the Defence Minister criticized the DMK, Congress, Trinamool Congress, and Communist parties for obstructing the passage of the women's reservation bill in Parliament.
He assured the public, "On behalf of the government and as per the promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we will ensure that the women's quota is enacted at the earliest opportunity in Parliament," during his address in the Vasudevanallur Assembly constituency.
Rajnath Singh is actively participating as a key figure in the NDA's campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state scheduled for April 23.
His busy schedule on Sunday included several speeches in the Radhapuram constituency of Tirunelveli, Puliyangudi in Tenkasi, and a roadshow at Panagudi, located a mere 400 meters from the main event area.
The NDA campaign has previously featured prominent appearances by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who have been rallying support for the alliance's candidates in recent days.
