New Delhi, Jan 2 (NationPress) - Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to reveal portraits of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Bharat Ratna Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya at the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Saturday, January 3, according to an official statement released on Friday.
The portraits will be placed in the Assembly House as a symbol of profound respect and an enduring tribute to the significant contributions made by these two esteemed figures to India's democracy, education, culture, and public life, as noted by Speaker Vijender Gupta.
This event will also feature the launch of a coffee table book named ‘Bharat Mata’, which showcases Indian nationalism through the lenses of painting, architecture, and literature, he added.
The book celebrates the creative and artistic representation of India’s national consciousness and marks the 150th anniversary of the composition of the National Song Vande Mataram, he explained.
In preparation for the event, a high-level meeting was convened on Thursday by Gupta with senior officials from various departments, including the Delhi Police, as per an official release.
During this meeting, the Speaker provided essential directives to ensure that the arrangements for the event run smoothly, with particular focus on security, crowd management, traffic regulation, parking arrangements, fire safety, and medical readiness.
Approximately 1,000 attendees are expected at the event, and all involved departments have been advised to work closely together to ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful occasion.
The gathering will also be graced by the presence of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Padma Bhushan Ram Bahadur Rai, Chairman of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Parvesh Verma, Delhi Minister for Legislative Affairs, and Mohan Singh Bisht, Deputy Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
As part of this national recognition, artists from the Sahitya Kala Parishad will present a patriotic cultural program that reflects India's rich artistic and national heritage.
