Ram Gopal Yadav Comments on Mamata's Aspirations to Lead the INDIA Coalition: Congress' Weak Electoral Performance a Factor

Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 7 (NationPress) The remarks made by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee about her intention to lead the INDIA coalition have initiated a political dialogue, attracting numerous reactions.

Senior leader of the Samajwadi Party, Ram Gopal Yadav, also expressed his perspective on this issue, indicating that Mamata Banerjee -- the Trinamool Congress chief -- might have voiced this desire due to the Congress's inadequate performance in both the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

"In Himachal Pradesh, where the Congress holds power, they lost all four seats. In addition, in Karnataka and Telangana, both Congress-governed states, they lost half of their Lok Sabha seats. Furthermore, Congress did not secure a single seat in Madhya Pradesh and faced significant losses in Chhattisgarh. If Congress had performed better in the Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi might not have assumed the role of Prime Minister today.

"This is why discussions regarding a change in leadership are emerging. Nonetheless, I prefer not to partake in this debate. The INDIA alliance must remain cohesive, as without this coalition, these tikadami (trickster) individuals cannot be defeated," Yadav informed reporters.

During a press conference in his native Mainpuri, he stated: "Doubts about the outcomes in Maharashtra began to surface when people claimed their votes were cast for Congress, yet the votes for Congress were absent. This scenario indicates potential irregularities. Even Donald Trump remarked that Russia interfered with the US presidential elections through technology, so in today’s technological landscape, such alterations are not far-fetched. We utilize disappearing messages on our phones that disappear within minutes. Such modifications can easily be executed using technology.

The leader of the Samajwadi Party asserts that "elections must be contested, whether they are by-elections or general elections. We are prepared and will fully exercise our democratic rights."

On the issue of the Sambhal violence, he commented: "The BJP is scouring temples nationwide. The BJP's aim is to incite unrest in the country to maintain their grip on power. They show no concern for the nation."
