BJP Criticizes Mamata Banerjee's INDIA Bloc Leadership Aspirations, Questions Rahul Gandhi's Credibility

New Delhi, Dec 7 (NationPress) The BJP on Saturday took aim at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's expressed willingness to assume leadership of the INDIA bloc, claiming that this reflects a notable lack of confidence among alliance members regarding Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's effectiveness as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
This criticism arose after Mamata voiced her concerns about the Opposition bloc's operations and hinted at her readiness to guide it if offered the chance.
The West Bengal CM noted that although she would remain in Bengal, she could facilitate the alliance's operations from there. Her comments came in response to TMC MP Kirti Azad's suggestion that Mamata should lead the INDIA bloc.
The BJP seized this opportunity to target the Opposition, accusing them of engaging in internal power struggles.
BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi stated to IANS, "They are aware that there will be no leadership openings in Delhi for years to come. Within their coalition, numerous families are competing for power, and their ambition is singular -- leadership."
"As they cannot secure positions at the national level, they are now racing for leadership roles within the alliance," he continued.
BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari remarked that the INDIA bloc does not regard Rahul Gandhi seriously.
"This clearly indicates that Rahul Gandhi's leadership is viewed with skepticism by the INDIA bloc. They are more focused on politically undermining one another than on any constructive efforts," he told IANS.
"The SP clashes with Congress, Congress faces off against SP, TMC contends with Congress, and Congress disputes with TMC. This underscores what Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently emphasized -- this alliance is fueled by ego, and its members are perpetually in conflict. After the elections, this coalition will disband," he added.
Bhandari further criticized Rahul Gandhi's leadership, asserting, "Despite being promoted over 80 times, neither the public nor the leaders of the INDIA bloc seem to take Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra seriously. This illustrates Rahul Gandhi's political immaturity. Even members of their own alliance are starting to voice this concern."
