Referencing Ambedkar's Legacy Promises a Life of Dignity, Karnataka Minister Critiques HM Shah

Bengaluru, Dec 21 (NationPress) Criticizing Home Minister Amit Shah for his remarks about B.R. Ambedkar in the Parliament, which the Opposition deemed disrespectful towards the architect of the Constitution, Congress leader and Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge stated that invoking Babasaheb's name ensures a life of dignity.
Speaking to the press in Kalaburagi, Priyank, the son of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, remarked: "Chanting God’s name a thousand times may or may not guarantee heaven in seven lifetimes, but invoking Ambedkar’s name ensures a life of dignity in social, economic and political fronts in this very lifetime.”
Kharge further asserted that the Home Minister was bitten by a rabid dog, a comment likely to provoke controversy.
"We will chant the name of Ambedkar and the Constitution thousands of times. Their issue is that they lack Ambedkar's ideology, and there is no room for equality within them," he stated.
In response to the Karnataka High Court's decision to grant bail to BJP MLC C.T. Ravi, Priyank Kharge emphasized that the matter was related to bail and not a victory or defeat for any party.
"The BJP is proclaiming victory for truth, claiming a setback for Congress. How is it a setback for us? Let the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) report come, and then we’ll see. The BJP isn’t the only party that understands the law; we do too," he articulated.
Criticizing Ravi, the Congress leader highlighted: "In the Legislative Council, a woman (minister) was insulted, and numerous MLAs supported him. Despite his wrongdoing, Ravi hasn’t admitted his error, showcasing his arrogance.
"Has any BJP leader denounced this conduct? Instead, they all unite, which implies their endorsement of such behavior. Does this not equate them to 'Dushasana'? Have they taken any steps to improve people’s lives? All they do is incite chaos and spread discord."
Continuing his critique of the BJP and its leaders, he mentioned: "BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra claimed he would investigate the issue but did not denounce Ravi’s comments. Instead, he stated that BJP leaders don’t wear bangles and they won’t remain passive.
"Isn’t this a direct offense to those who wear bangles? What does Vijayendra have to say regarding this? When esteemed leaders like Appaji (former CM B.S. Yediyurappa) faced a POCSO case, what action did they take? They didn’t even issue a notice in BJP MLA N. Munirathna’s situation."
Kharge also dismissed the BJP’s claims that the Congress government was practicing vindictive politics.
"Since coming to power, have we caused any harm to anyone’s property or assets? The BJP is adept at transforming lies into truth; it’s their political style. Ours is progressive politics," he concluded.
