The Vision of Ambedkar: A Letter from Karnataka CM to HM Amit Shah

Bengaluru, Dec 18 (NationPress) In response to the comments made by the Union Home Minister in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remarked on Wednesday that had B.R. Ambedkar not existed, he would likely have been herding cattle in his village, while Amit Shah might have been operating a scrap business in his hometown.

In his letter to HM Amit Shah, CM Siddaramaiah expressed, “If Dr. Ambedkar had not come into this world, I would not have had the honor of serving as Chief Minister today. I might have been tending to livestock in my village.

“Our esteemed leader, Mallikarjun Kharge Ji, may not have ascended to lead the AICC, potentially working in a factory in Kalaburagi instead. We owe our progress and dignity to Babasaheb and the Constitution he crafted.”

“Not only me, but without Dr. Ambedkar's significant contributions, you (Amit Shah) also would not hold the position of Home Minister today. You might have been managing a scrap business in your hometown.

“Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi, your colleague, might still be selling tea at a railway station. The vision of Babasaheb is what uplifted us all. Even the Prime Minister could acknowledge this, and so should you,” he emphasized.

“Firstly, I would like to commend you for finally acknowledging the truth by openly disclosing the BJP's genuine stance regarding Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

“Your statement in Parliament (18-12-2024) did not catch us off guard; we were already aware of your party's underlying mindset. However, now the entire nation has witnessed your blatant disrespect towards the architect of the Indian Constitution.

“Standing in the very Parliament that operates under his Constitution and referring to his legacy as a ‘habit’ reflects your arrogance. Congratulations, Mr. Shah, for this disgraceful act,” the CM asserted.

“Do not try to mislead the public by claiming, ‘I have great respect for Babasaheb, and my words were misconstrued.’ We are not naive. Take responsibility for your words and confront the nation,” he challenged.

“For us, Ambedkar is not a mere ‘trend’ but a timeless inspiration. As long as we exist, as long as the Sun and Moon illuminate this Earth, Ambedkar's legacy will persist.

“The more you attempt to undermine his memory, the more robust it will become to guide us forward. While your followers might have applauded your arrogance, remember this: Millions across the nation, who have achieved equality and dignity due to Babasaheb, are condemning you,” he insisted.

“Your animosity towards Ambedkar is well-known to those who understand history. Why did your ideological predecessor, the RSS, denounce the Constitution authored by Babasaheb during his lifetime? Historical records reveal the statements made by RSS leaders like Hedgewar, Golwalkar, and Savarkar against the Constitution.

“You might attempt to suppress these facts, but they cannot be forgotten. Your comments in Parliament are merely a continuation of that long-standing RSS ideology,” CM Siddaramaiah stated in his letter.
