New Delhi, March 25 (NationPress) The Delhi Assembly echoed with Modi-Modi chants on Tuesday as Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled her government's inaugural Budget in the House.

While introducing a historic Rs 1 lakh crore Budget, the largest in the city's history, CM Rekha Gupta took several swipes at the former administration, criticizing it for unfulfilled promises and a focus on promotion rather than real achievements.

In a pointed remark about the "AAP-da" model, Rekha Gupta remarked, "Delhi's malik (owner) had pledged to turn the city into London. He marketed this vision to the residents, yet the city descended into chaos with broken roads, traffic jams, and incomplete projects."

Referring to it as an "advertisement government", she stated that the previous administration prioritized posters and publicity over genuine policy-making aimed at public welfare.

"More funds were allocated to hoardings than to infrastructure. There were no initiatives, yet advertisements were omnipresent," she asserted.

She also criticized the "AAP-da" government for hindering the city's progress for political gain and depriving residents of numerous Central schemes, including the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

"The former government claimed a lack of funding for development. However, if they hadn't obstructed the implementation of Central schemes for political reasons, there would have been no funding shortages," she continued.

"It is well-known that the Ayushman Bharat scheme was executed nationwide, benefiting everyone directly. Yet, despite repeated requests from the Centre to launch it in Delhi, it was never realized due to the former Chief Minister's desire for personal credit. The entire Delhi had to face the fallout of this," she added.

Emphasizing the introduction of Ayushman Bharat in Delhi, she stated, "The day our government assumed office, right after the oath, it was decided in the first cabinet meeting to roll out Ayushman Bharat in the capital, and this scheme will soon be activated. Citizens will receive optimal health services through initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Ayushman Arogya Mandir, and Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Infrastructure Mission."

"Our administration accomplished this, and it was also resolved that alongside the insurance of Rs 5 lakh provided by the Centre under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the Delhi government will furnish an additional insurance of Rs 5 lakh," she concluded.
