Hyderabad, July 17 (NationPress) Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday urged Union Minister for IT and Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw to promptly grant approval for semiconductor initiatives in Telangana.
The Chief Minister also appealed for the endorsement of the proposed Advanced System in Package Technologies (ASIP) project and the Micro LED Display Fab Project Crystal Matrix, highlighting that Telangana is already home to exceptional infrastructure, a favorable atmosphere for innovation, and cutting-edge research and development centers.
Accompanied by state IT Minister D Sridhar Babu and State Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, the Chief Minister met with Ashwini Vaishnaw in Delhi.
According to the Chief Minister's Office, CM Reddy brought to the attention of the Union Minister Telangana's request for establishing a high-tech electronics park in Muchcherla, Rangareddy district under the EMC 2.0 scheme.
The Chief Minister urged Ashwini Vaishnaw to approve the establishment of a new electronic manufacturing park near the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR), to which the Union Minister responded positively.
CM Revanth Reddy also requested the Railways Minister to authorize new projects aimed at enhancing railway connectivity in Telangana. He mentioned that the Regional Ring Rail project has been proposed alongside the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road.
With the Railway Board having already granted permission for the final location survey, the Chief Minister sought the Railway Minister's approval for the Rs 8,000 crore Regional Ring Rail project.
CM Reddy elaborated on the advantages of the Regional Ring Rail, which will enhance connectivity between rural and urban regions while alleviating traffic congestion at major rail stations in Hyderabad. This project will also contribute to the reduction of rural poverty and the creation of job opportunities in urban settings.
Additionally, CM Revanth Reddy requested the sanctioning of a railway line linking Hyderabad Dry Port to Machilipatnam (Bandar) Port in Andhra Pradesh, explaining that this route will facilitate the export of medicines, electronic devices, and food processing products.
The Union Minister was also urged to establish a Kazipet Railway Division for streamlined railway operations in the state. The Chief Minister additionally asked the Railway Minister to approve new railway lines for the development of underprivileged areas in Telangana and to enhance connectivity for industrial and agricultural exports and imports.
He requested approval for several railway projects, including Vikarabad-Krishna (122 km - estimated cost Rs 2,677 crore), Kalwakurthy-Macherla (100 km - Rs 2,000 crore), Dornakal-Gadwal (296 km - Rs 6,512 crore), Dornakal-Miryalguda (97 km - Rs 2,184 crore), and urged that the Railways cover the entire cost of the new ventures.
