Hyderabad, Jan 18 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday urged Singapore to collaborate with his state across diverse sectors to achieve the objectives of 'TelanganaRising'.

The Chief Minister, who is at the helm of a delegation visiting Singapore, met with the Sustainability and Environment Minister, Grace Fu Hai Yien, who also oversees trade.

The discussions between both parties spanned various areas of potential collaboration, as reported by the Chief Minister's Office.

The delegation, which included IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and other officials, highlighted the unparalleled investment prospects in Telangana across multiple sectors, such as urban planning, infrastructure, water management, skills development, sports, semi-conductors, manufacturing, and sustainability sciences and technology.

Minister Yien expressed her commitment to considering the Chief Minister’s invitation for partnership, particularly regarding projects like Net Zero Future City, the River Musi rejuvenation initiative, and Telangana's sustainability efforts.

Both parties agreed to closely collaborate, including the formation of dedicated teams to identify joint projects, share best practices from Singapore with India’s youngest state, and accelerate progress on collaborative ventures.

In a related development, Sridhar Babu engaged with the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA).

Numerous prominent semiconductor industry leaders participated in discussions regarding opportunities in Telangana. Key attendees included Brian Tan, Chairman of SSIA and Regional President of Applied Materials, Tan Yew Kong, Vice Chairman of SSIA and Senior VP of GlobalFoundries Singapore, along with C. S. Chua, Secretary of SSIA and President and MD of Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte. The SSIA shared insights, best practices, and experiences from Singapore’s remarkable growth and global leadership in the semiconductor industry. Minister Sridhar Babu, highlighting the key elements of TelanganaRising, presented investment opportunities for global investors and invited the Singaporean industry to invest significantly in the state. The SSIA responded with keen interest to the invitation from Telangana, and a substantial delegation is anticipated to visit Hyderabad later this year to explore on-ground opportunities.
