Hyderabad, April 18 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday urged Japanese businesses to consider his state as a China +1 alternative. During the India-Japan Economic Partnership roadshow in Tokyo, he encouraged investors to invest, assuring them that they will flourish, expand, and prosper while feeling at home.
The official TelanganaRising delegation, headed by the Chief Minister, organized a significant Investment Roadshow, showcasing the state's vibrant industrial landscape and inviting Japanese enterprises to collaborate in its development.
With over 150 participants from the Japanese business sector in attendance, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy urged Japanese investors to come to Telangana and invest, according to a release from the Chief Minister's Office.
"Japan is known as the Land of the Rising Sun. Our state's vision is TelanganaRising. I take pride in stating—Telangana is Rising in the Land of the Rising Sun," he remarked.
"I am thrilled to be in Tokyo. Your city boasts remarkable infrastructure, a commitment to environmental sustainability, and a spirit of innovation. The people of Japan are exceptionally kind, respectful, and disciplined. I have learned invaluable lessons from Tokyo to enhance my city of Hyderabad," the Chief Minister added.
The event commenced with remarks from the Ambassador of India to Japan, Sibi George, who highlighted the robust and expanding Indo-Japanese economic relations. Toshihiro Mizutani, Director General, JETRO, Bengaluru, also spoke, promoting greater collaboration with Telangana.
Promotional clips on two flagship projects of the government, including Future City, India’s first planned Net Zero industrial city, and the Musi Riverfront Rejuvenation Project, one of India’s largest riverfront development initiatives, were presented during the event.
Telangana's Special Chief Secretary for Industries & Commerce, Jayesh Ranjan, provided a presentation detailing significant investment prospects for Japanese firms in sectors such as electronics, AI, EVs, textiles, and green energy.
The Chief Minister extended a heartfelt invitation to Japanese companies to invest in the state and join the TelanganaRising initiative. "We present world-class infrastructure, a skilled workforce, and transparent and consistent policies to facilitate your investments in several priority sectors like life sciences, GCCs, electronics, EV and Energy storage, Textiles, Food processing, AI data centres, and logistics. Together, let’s create something extraordinary - for India, Japan, and the globe."
The roadshow concluded with numerous one-on-one discussions between the Telangana delegation and leading Japanese business conglomerates.
