New Delhi, Oct 2 (NationPress) On the significant occasion of Vijayadashami, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) celebrated a remarkable milestone, marking 100 years since its inception and stepping into its 101st year. This momentous day also commemorates the founding of the RSS in 1925 by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.
In honor of this founding anniversary, district-level Vijayadashami puja and Path Sanchalan events were held throughout Delhi. Celebrations took place at 346 locations across the city, featuring Shastra Pujan (weapon worship) and vibrant path marches.
Enthusiastic volunteers, dressed in their full uniforms and energized by traditional drum beats, participated in large numbers, with many more engaged in organizing the festivities.
As the processions wound through diverse neighborhoods, participants from all walks of life—youth, women, and intellectuals—greeted the marchers with flower petals.
Notable community figures were also invited to attend the celebrations. At the end of the marches, leaders from the national, regional, and provincial levels of the RSS addressed the volunteers at various locations. Dr. Anil Agrawal, the Prant Sanghachalak, along with senior office-bearer Indresh Kumar, participated in the Vijayadashami festivities and path sanchalan in West Vihar.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief of Communications, Bharatji, was present at Bijwasan. Another senior RSS member, Murliji, attended the event at Kondli, Mayur Vihar. Anil Gupta, the provincial in-charge, was present in Vikas Nagar, Uttam Nagar, while Vishal participated at the event held at Delhi University.
The speakers emphasized the importance of the RSS's establishment, its goals, and its century-long journey, encouraging society and volunteers to adopt five essential transformations in their lives.
For the nation’s highest honor, they advocated for embracing social harmony, family enlightenment, an environmentally friendly lifestyle, promoting Swadeshi (indigenous products), and fulfilling civic duties in daily life.
This Vijayadashami celebration marks the official commencement of the RSS's centenary year. Throughout the year, various activities will be organized, including extensive door-to-door outreach and a significant event, the Hindu Sammelan.
