Jaipur, Sep 30 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) celebrated Shri Vijayadashami on Tuesday evening at the Rajasthan University campus, symbolizing the commencement of the Sangh's centenary year.
Approximately 600 attendees, including students, women, teachers, and volunteers, participated in the event, which concluded with great fervor despite challenging weather conditions.
Starting at 5 p.m., the program was temporarily hindered by heavy rainfall, forcing attendees to endure uncomfortable circumstances for nearly an hour. Nevertheless, the atmosphere remained disciplined and spirited, showcasing the Sangh's traditional endurance.
The chief guest, Gopal Ji Meena, a former Director General of Police in Uttar Pradesh, commended the RSS for its unwavering commitment to society. He stated that the organization operates with “fearlessness, morality, righteousness, and a spirit of patriotism.”
According to him, the Sangh’s lifestyle and organizational discipline continue to motivate various segments of society. Nimbaram, an RSS regional pracharak, emphasized the resilience of the Sangh since its inception by K.B. Hedgewar in 1925.
“One Hedgewar has departed, but today millions of volunteers stand ready. The Sangh does not oppose anyone but strives for social transformation, truth, and righteousness. Serving the nation is our duty, and Mother India is our guiding light. The Constitution is our most esteemed scripture,” he remarked.
He further elaborated that throughout its 100-year journey, the Sangh has demonstrated that its efforts are focused on the welfare of Hindu society and the nation's honor, rather than individual accolades.
He articulated the Sangh's vision of five transformations: social harmony, self-respect, family enlightenment, environmental conservation, and civic etiquette, which direct its initiatives.
The program featured the singing of the Sangh anthem, “Whatever storms may come, no matter how many obstacles we face, moving forward is our duty...”
The campus resonated with chants of Vande Mataram. Despite the rain and challenging conditions, the celebrations concluded with dignity and enthusiasm, marking a significant milestone in the Sangh's centenary year.
