New Delhi, Sep 28 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Sunday that the 100-year journey of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been remarkable and motivating, emphasizing that the ethos of 'nation first' has always been of utmost importance to the organization.
During the 126th installment of his monthly radio show, 'Mann Ki Baat', PM Modi remarked, "In the upcoming days, we will commemorate Vijayadashami, a day that holds special significance as it also marks a century since the RSS was founded. This century-long journey is not only astonishing but also deeply inspiring. When the RSS was established a century ago, our nation was shackled by centuries of subjugation.
It is crucial to acknowledge that the RSS was created in 1925 during Vijayadashami.
PM Modi added, "This prolonged period of enslavement severely impacted our self-esteem and confidence. The world's oldest civilization was grappling with an identity crisis, and our citizens were succumbing to an inferiority complex. Therefore, alongside our nation's quest for Independence, it was essential to liberate it from intellectual bondage.
Reflecting on this, the Prime Minister highlighted that Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar established the RSS on the auspicious day of Vijayadashami in 1925.
"Following Dr. Saheb's demise, Param Poojya Guruji continued this noble endeavor of serving the nation. He often stated, 'Rashtraya Swaha, Idam Rashtraya Idam Na Mam', which translates to 'This does not belong to me; it belongs to the nation'. This principle encourages us to prioritize our nation over personal interests.
PM Modi noted, "This profound statement by Guruji Golwalkar has illuminated the path of sacrifice and service for millions of volunteers. The essence of sacrifice, service, and the discipline imparted is the true strength of the Sangh.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister remarked that today, the RSS has been unwaveringly committed to national service for more than a century.
He stated, "Whenever a natural disaster occurs anywhere in the country, RSS volunteers are always the first responders. This unwavering spirit of 'nation first' remains crucial in every action and endeavor of millions of volunteers.
PM Modi concluded with, "I extend my heartfelt wishes to every volunteer dedicating themselves to this noble cause of serving the nation.
