New Delhi, Oct 14 (NationPress) India's esteemed all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja expressed his views on the centenary celebration of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), recognized as the world's largest voluntary organization. He acknowledged the pivotal role of RSS shakhas in shaping individuals who significantly contribute to nation-building, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a prime example.
Established in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the RSS marked its 100th anniversary on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami on October 2. It was formed as a volunteer-driven entity to promote cultural awareness, discipline, service, and social responsibility among the populace.
Jadeja shared, "Reflecting on the centenary year of the RSS, the world's foremost voluntary organization, I recall the historical context of its inception. The exploitation of our nation's essence and culture by the British, along with various ideologies, raised concerns about the potential destruction of our culture, which ultimately led to the formation of the RSS.
"Dr. Keshavram Baliram Hedgewar ji founded the Sangh in 1925 with the vision of revitalizing our culture and nation. This remarkable journey has reached the milestone of 100 years," Jadeja noted in a post on X.
"The initial focus of the Sangh was on 'Charitra nirman dwara Vyakti Nirman.' The effort to cultivate patriotic and committed youth commenced through shakhas (branches). Over the past century, the Sangh Parivar has made substantial contributions across various societal realms - education, health, economy, politics, and social order.
"The individuals nurtured within the Sangh’s shakhas, who prioritize character development, have played a crucial role in nation-building, with our current Prime Minister Narendra Bhai Modi ji being a notable example. Today, through numerous initiatives of the Sangh, millions of volunteers are dedicating their lives to serving the nation and society," the post elaborated.
Jadeja reminisced about his encounter with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. "Not long ago, I had the honor of meeting the esteemed Sarsanghchalak of the Sangh, Mohan Bhagwat ji. In our conversation, his insights reflected the profoundness of our culture, addressing contemporary challenges, and embodying the spirit of perseverance and service. This experience further enhanced my admiration and respect for the Sangh.
He also conveyed warm wishes to the vast community of RSS volunteers for their unwavering dedication.
"As we celebrate 100 years of this continuous journey, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the millions of volunteers of the Sangh. I am deeply grateful for their commitment and contributions to our nation," he concluded.
Jadeja recently played a significant role in India’s 2-0 Test series victory against the West Indies, earning the Player of the Series title for scoring 104 runs in the sole innings he batted and taking eight wickets.
