New Delhi, Oct 1 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to grace the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as the Chief Guest on Wednesday at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre in Delhi.

An official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) indicates that the event will commence at 10:30 a.m., during which the Prime Minister will unveil a specially crafted commemorative postage stamp and coin to commemorate this significant milestone.

The press release stated, “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will participate in the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as the Chief Guest on 1st October 2025. On this occasion, the Prime Minister will unveil a specially designed commemorative postage stamp and coin that highlight the RSS’s contributions to the nation and will also address the audience.”

Established in 1925 in Nagpur by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the RSS was founded as a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to fostering cultural awareness, discipline, and social responsibility among citizens. Over the span of a century, the RSS has evolved into one of India’s most prominent socio-cultural organizations.

The press release elaborated on the organization’s ideological vision, stating, “RSS is a unique people-driven movement aimed at national reconstruction. Its emergence has been seen as a response to centuries of foreign rule, with its ongoing growth attributed to the emotional resonance of its vision of India’s national glory, deeply rooted in Dharma.”

A central objective of the Sangh, as noted in the release, is the cultivation of national character. “It aims to instill devotion to the motherland, discipline, self-restraint, courage, and heroism,” it stated, further adding that the Sangh’s ultimate aspiration is the “Sarvangeena Unnati (all-round development) of the nation.”

Throughout the past century, the RSS and its affiliated organizations have made remarkable contributions in various sectors including education, health, social welfare, and disaster relief. RSS volunteers have been pivotal in response initiatives during floods, earthquakes, cyclones, and other natural disasters, frequently serving on the frontlines of relief and rehabilitation efforts.

The centenary event is designed not only to celebrate the legacy of the organization but also to acknowledge its ongoing role in shaping India’s cultural narrative and promoting unity across communities.
