Chennai, Mar 31 (NationPress) The producers of director P S Mithran’s highly anticipated spy thriller ‘Sardar 2’, starring Karthi in the lead role, unveiled a prologue on Monday that revealed actor S J Suryah as the primary antagonist, known as Black Dagger.
Following an exclusive media screening of the prologue, which occurred an hour before its public release, director Mithran explained that the prologue was designed to introduce the character played by S J Suryah.
Mithran noted that S J Suryah was eager to take on the villain's role in the sequel to the blockbuster film, stating, “I believe S J Suryah had already made his decision to join the project. He agreed instantly, even before I finished narrating the script.”
He further shared, “While making Sardar 1, I contemplated the protagonist's character. We filmed the introductory scene of Sardar 1 first, and during that process, I realized that the character of Sardar would have a lasting impact. I knew we could explore many narratives with that character. Thus, the idea for Sardar 2 was born right then.”
The director also revealed that ‘Sardar 2’ will serve as both a prequel and sequel, featuring Sardar's first mission as a flashback before transitioning back to contemporary events, culminating in Sardar's final assignment.
“Karthi and I finalized this storyline during a flight. However, bringing it to life required a grand vision. I extend my gratitude to producer Lakshman sir for believing in this narrative and investing in it.
The prologue begins with Sardar defeating a character named Cheng after an intense confrontation with some of Cheng's guards in China. Before his demise, Cheng taunts Sardar that the conflict will not end with him and warns of impending destruction for India.
Cheng asserts that all intelligence agencies are focusing on Black Dagger and that he is approaching soon. He foretells a monumental war and advises Sardar to save himself and his nation if he can. Sardar responds that there is a saying in his homeland: when war arises, life is of little consequence...
Sardar 2 will also feature other talented actors, including Rajisha Vijayan, Malavika Mohanan, Aashika Rangnath, and Sajal Ahmed.
On the technical side, Sardar 2 boasts cinematography by George Williams and a musical score by Sam C S. The film's editing is handled by Ruben, with art direction by K Kadhir. Action sequences have been choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan, and the story for the sequel is written by M R Pon Parthipan, Roju Bipin Ragu, and Geevee.
