Chennai, Apr 1 (NationPress) Director P S Mithran, whose highly anticipated spy thriller ‘Sardar 2’ featuring Karthi in the lead role, revealed on Monday that only five to ten percent of the film's shooting is yet to be completed.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS during an event for the prologue launch, Mithran confirmed that the dubbing process is also underway.
“Only another five to ten percent of the film remains. Yes, dubbing is happening concurrently,” he stated.
The prologue showcased Karthi in an action sequence where he wields the Japanese sword Katana. When asked if this sequence occurs in Japan or China, Mithran confirmed it takes place in China.
“Karthi had already received sufficient training in sword fighting from his role in director Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. He only required minor guidance and minimal training for these action scenes,” Mithran explained.
When reminded about the promo released at the announcement of the sequel showing Karthi’s character being dispatched as a spy to Cambodia, Mithran clarified, “It initially transitions to Cambodia before shifting to China.”
The prologue unveiled on Monday also indicated that actor S J Suryah portrays the primary antagonist, known as Black Dagger.
Sardar 2 will also feature a cast that includes Karthi, S J Suryah, and Rajisha Vijayan, along with actors Malavika Mohanan, Aashika Rangnath, and Sajal Ahmed, among others.
From a technical perspective, Sardar 2 boasts cinematography by George Williams and music by Sam C S. The film's editing is handled by Ruben, with art direction by K Kadhir. Stunts have been choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan, and the story for the sequel is penned by M R Pon Parthipan, Roju Bipin Ragu, and Geevee.
