Why is Bihar BJP Chief Sanjay Saraogi Mocking the Opposition Over the 'VB-G RAM G' Scheme?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Jan 8 (NationPress) The President of Bihar's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and former Minister, Sanjay Saraogi, expressed his ridicule towards the Opposition on Thursday for their objections to the renaming of the MNREGA scheme as "Viksit Bharat—Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) scheme", suggesting their concern is merely a backlash against the name of Lord Ram.
Speaking to party supporters during a ceremony in Samastipur, Saraogi remarked that the NDA government has initiated a new legislative bill alongside a restructured scheme named 'VB-G RAM G' to rectify the failures and rampant corruption that previously plagued the MNREGA initiative.
"The Opposition has no concern for progress or transparency. Their true issue lies with the name of Lord Ram, which is why they are opposing the 'VB-G RAM G' scheme without cause," he stated.
Saraogi criticized the former MNREGA scheme as largely ineffective and mired in corruption.
"Under MNREGA, corruption was widespread. Payments were often made for simply transferring soil from one location to another, resulting in no genuine development," he claimed.
He mentioned that the new 'VB-G RAM G' scheme will introduce new initiatives that align with the vision of a 'Developed India', promoting equitable and authentic development in both rural and urban settings.
According to Saraogi, the NDA government is dedicated to fostering transparency, accountability, and result-focused governance, restructuring schemes to enhance their effectiveness and eliminate corruption.
This event marked Sanjay Saraogi's inaugural visit to the state BJP office in Samastipur since his appointment as State party President.
He received a warm reception from fellow BJP leaders and party members.
Notable figures in attendance included BJP MLC Tarun Chaudhary, District President Neelam Sinha, Ramsumaran Singh, Vijay Singh, along with other senior BJP leaders and workers.
In commenting on the 'VB-G RAM G' scheme, Bihar Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav also directed sharp criticisms at the Opposition.
"This scheme will eradicate corruption. That is why the Congress opposes it without valid justification," he remarked.
