Los Angeles, June 11 (NationPress) Hollywood sensation Scarlett Johansson has opened up about the relationship difficulties she faced while dating individuals outside the entertainment sector.
In a recent conversation with David Harbour, the two actors exchanged thoughts on their preferences for dating fellow artists versus 'normal people,' as Harbour, 50, described it, according to reports from People magazine.
During their discussion for Interview magazine, Johansson remarked, "I’ve been in significant relationships with people not involved in the industry, and one of the main issues was that they often had no understanding of what I needed to perform my job effectively."
“Of course, if I were dating an oncologist, I wouldn’t grasp their job requirements either. However, it’s not a completely foreign concept,” she elaborated.
As reported by People, Johansson shares a son, Cosmo, 3, with her husband Colin Jost and a daughter, Rose, 10, with her ex-husband, Romain Dauriac. She emphasized that romantic relationships between actors and non-industry individuals can sometimes lead to increased tensions due to the nature of acting.
"I believe it’s easy to generate a lot of jealousy when one partner isn’t part of the industry, as actors tend to be very free-spirited and form deep connections with colleagues at work,” she reflected. "They can be devoted to a partner while also being very involved in various other relationships, which can create a gray area for some people.”
"Moreover, managing a relationship with the public can become quite complex for those outside the industry to comprehend,” Johansson further explained.
Prior to her marriage to Saturday Night Live star Jost in 2020, Johansson was married to French journalist and art dealer Romain Dauriac, 43, from 2014 to 2017. She was also married to Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011.
