“The intelligence indicated that these criminals, armed with illegal sharp-edged weapons/tokas, were planning to eliminate a rival gang and were currently traveling in a vehicle, a Scorpio with registration No. JK02CV-1312, around the link road near AIIMS Vijaypur. These criminals intended to carry out serious offenses and were operating an organized syndicate,” the official stated.

Following this information, a police team led by the SHO of PS Vijaypur, under the guidance of SDPO Vijaypur and the overall supervision of SSP Samba, successfully arrested all suspects along with the weapons.

The Scorpio vehicle, bearing registration No. JK02CV-1312, has also been confiscated. A case, FIR No. 41/2025 under U/S 111 BNS, 4/25 Arms Act, has been filed at Police Station Vijaypur, and an investigation is underway,” the official added.

Gang wars among criminals were prevalent during the 1960s and 1970s in Jammu, but such incidents have decreased significantly since then.

Thanks to advancements in technology and electronic surveillance, police have been able to thwart gang wars by apprehending rival factions before they could engage in acts of revenge or rivalry.
