Mumbai, Jan 29 (NationPress) The Shiv Sena has called on the BJP-led NDA government to allocate significant financial resources in the annual budget for 2025-26 aimed at enhancing infrastructure, boosting employment, and advancing emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, with the goal of establishing Maharashtra as India’s innovation capital.
Shiv Sena Parliamentary Party leader Shrikant Shinde stated: "Maharashtra is at the forefront with innovative initiatives focused on women, farmers, and youth – the three foundational pillars of our community that warrant steadfast support. Our programs include the 'Ladki Bahin' initiative for women’s financial empowerment, the groundbreaking Re 1 Crop Insurance Scheme for farmers, and extensive skill enhancement initiatives for youth. As we anticipate the Union Budget 2025, Maharashtra seeks robust backing for these critical sectors to foster enduring transformation."
He added: "A strong Maharashtra is essential for a stronger India, and we are dedicated to collaborating with the NDA government to realize this vision. Under the guidance of PM Modi and with the confidence of our citizens, we will elevate India's economic trajectory."
Shinde emphasized that Maharashtra has been crucial to India’s growth narrative due to numerous initiatives rolled out by the Centre between 2014 and 2024.
"As the state with the highest GDP per capita in India, Maharashtra is positioned to lead India towards becoming an economic superpower. The historic mandate for the MahaYuti government in the 2024 Assembly elections has solidified our commitment to accelerate growth and progress. Maharashtra has consistently attracted the highest investment at the Davos Summit for the third year in a row," he noted.
Shinde remarked that India is on the verge of a momentous economic transformation. "With the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our country has experienced substantial political stability and economic revival."
He mentioned that the populace reaffirmed their trust in the NDA government with a third consecutive mandate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, endorsing its visionary governance.
“In the past decade, India has risen to become the world’s fifth-largest economy, surpassing major economies like the UK, and is on course to become the third-largest by FY28. The reforms initiated by the PM Modi-led government – including Goods and Services Tax (GST), Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), Make in India, Digital India, and extraordinary infrastructure development – starkly contrast the stagnation left by previous Congress-led administrations," he asserted.
In 2014, the NDA government took over an economy troubled by corruption, mismanagement, and historically low approval ratings.
"From 2014 to 2024, India's GDP surged from $2 trillion to $3.7 trillion, marking a period of remarkable economic growth," Shinde mentioned.
"The UPA II government was plagued by weak and indecisive leadership, rampant corruption, and soaring inflation, which stifled the nation's advancement. Conversely, the Modi government has showcased strength, experience, and decisiveness in governance. Its comprehensive policies and sound financial strategies have not only navigated the economy toward stability but also positioned India for sustained growth, enabling the government to tackle challenges head-on and guide the nation toward prosperity," he concluded.
