Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 2 (NationPress) The production of the film version of “Mirzapur” has successfully concluded, with actress Shriya Pilgaonkar expressing her enthusiasm about rejoining the crew and stepping back into her cherished role of Sweety Gupta.
Shriya took to Instagram, sharing a series of photographs from the set of “Mirzapur-The Film”, including some snapshots from the wrap celebration.
“It’s a wrap! Always the best time with this gang on set! Reuniting with this team & reliving Sweety Gupta felt incredibly special. I can’t wait for you all to experience Mirzapur – The Film on the BIG screen. It’s going to be wild,” she captioned her post.
For those unfamiliar, Shriya’s character, Sweety, meets a tragic end at her own wedding, killed by Munna Bhaiyya, despite being pregnant, in the first season of the series.
“Mirzapur” revolves around Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, a crime lord and businessman who reigns over Mirzapur district in the Purvanchal area of Uttar Pradesh, India.
The initial season features a stellar cast, including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
The follow-up season continues with most of the original cast, omitting Vikrant and Shriya, while introducing new talents like Vijay Varma, Isha Talwar, Lilliput, Anjum Sharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Anangsha Biswas, and Neha Sargam.
Shriya will appear next in Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan. This film commenced production in August and marks the much-anticipated reunion of Bollywood icons Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after an 18-year gap. Their last collaboration was in ‘Tashan’, which received a lukewarm response.
Shriya made her acting debut in the Marathi film Ekulti Ek in 2013, earning the Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Debut.
Following her Hindi film debut with Fan, she solidified her career with acclaimed web series such as Mirzapur, Guilty Minds, The Broken News, and Taaza Khabar, alongside her work in Guilty Minds and the film Ishq-e-Nadaan.
