Ujjain, December 29 (NationPress) - The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, announced on Monday that those attending the revered Simhastha Kumbh Mela - 2028 will find a meticulously organized and systematic event awaiting them in Ujjain.
During a ceremonial gathering, CM Yadav emphasized that pilgrims will not merely be guests in Ujjain, but esteemed invitees of Lord Mahakal. Therefore, extensive preparations are underway to ensure a successful religious gathering.
He expressed that millions of devotees from around the globe are expected to descend upon Ujjain during the Simhastha.
Yadav assured that arrangements are being meticulously crafted to facilitate every devotee's participation in the sacred rituals without any hindrance.
At the event, Chief Minister Yadav laid the foundation stone for infrastructure projects valued at Rs 129 crore, aimed at enhancing internal road connectivity within Ujjain.
Furthermore, he introduced the portal 'UtkarshUjjain.com' belonging to the Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC).
Additionally, the Chief Minister rolled out the 'Kaushal Setu' initiative, a skill development program designed to empower the youth through training.
The Madhya Pradesh government is also working on the development of seven vital routes leading into Ujjain, including four lanes and one significant six-lane roadway.
Construction on all these projects has already commenced.
The BJP-led state government has reported that the Cabinet Committee has greenlighted a total of 74 infrastructure development projects to be executed by seven major departments for Simhastha-2028, with an estimated expenditure of Rs 7,379.75 crore.
The designated camping area for Simhastha-2028 will be developed under the Town Planning Scheme (TPS).
In March 2025, the state government approved the Simhastha Mela Area Urban Development Scheme TPS 8, 9, 10, and 11, which spans 2,378 hectares.
