New Delhi, July 18 (NationPress) BJP Spokesperson Tuhin Sinha unleashed a fierce political critique against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday, branding his recent defense of brother-in-law Robert Vadra as "a quintessential example of obscuring corruption" and asserting that the Gandhi family perpetuates an "Emergency-era mentality".

During a press briefing in New Delhi, Sinha cited Gandhi's tweet that defended Vadra following the Enforcement Directorate (ED) unveiling a new charge sheet.

In his post on X, Rahul Gandhi stated, "My brother-in-law has faced relentless persecution from this government for the past decade. This latest charge sheet is merely an extension of that witch hunt."

Responding to Gandhi's comments on X, Sinha remarked, "The ED has presented a very serious charge sheet. Vadra's firm had just Rs 1 lakh when it engaged in a Rs 58 crore land transaction. Rahul Gandhi is merely rationalizing this overt case of corruption."

He drew comparisons to the National Herald case, where both Rahul and Sonia Gandhi are under legal examination.

"Through Young India, the Gandhis invested Rs 50 lakh to acquire assets valued over Rs 2,000 crore. What ethical foundation does Rahul possess to discuss integrity?"

Sinha further criticized Gandhi's recent threats to imprison Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

"This displays his Emergency-era mindset. Himanta is an elected CM with no charges against him. The Congress party has consistently shown disdain for the judicial system," the BJP spokesperson stated.

Emphasizing significant governance reforms, Sinha commended the Narendra Modi government's Rozgar Mela, stating, "In its 16th edition held last Sunday, over 51,000 youths secured employment. Since its inception in October 2022, more than 10 lakh positions have been filled, ensuring transparency in recruitment."

He also highlighted the SVAMITVA scheme for transforming rural land ownership.

"Through drone surveys, over two crore digital property cards have been distributed across nearly three lakh villages. This initiative is expediting dispute resolution and enhancing access to loans."

Sinha expressed admiration for the success of "Namo Drone Didi", a women-focused initiative aimed at empowering rural India utilizing drone technology.

He further accused Congress of regularly attacking institutions like the judiciary and the Election Commission when under scrutiny.

Point of View
