Mumbai, Aug 1 (NationPress) Sonali Bendre has tackled a prevalent question in the realm of reality television — are shows like hers scripted or genuinely spontaneous? Discussing her new program, “Pati Patni Aur Panga,” the actress offered insights into the show's authenticity and what audiences can anticipate from the unfolding drama. Sonali remarked to IANS, “Our show is titled Pati Patni Aur Panga, carrying the tagline Reality Check of Couples. When couples come together, moments of conflict and laughter occur naturally. Those cannot be scripted. We merely create scenarios and place the couples within them. The outcome is entirely unscripted. Everything captured on camera is authentic.”
Reflecting on her inaugural hosting experience, she admitted, “Since this is my first time hosting, I must say I feel quite intimidated—more than just a little. I’m surrounded by so many talented artists, all of whom are superstars in their individual domains. Then there’s Munawar alongside me, who thrives on spontaneous, unscripted exchanges, while I’m accustomed to scripted performances. So, engaging in unscripted hosting with him is a bit daunting for me.”
When questioned about the differences between hosting and judging, given her previous participation in reality shows, Sonali Bendre explained that hosting demands a unique energy and sense of responsibility, as it involves steering the narrative instead of merely assessing performances.
“As a judge, I simply provide commentary on the events unfolding before me. However, as a host, I am responsible for anchoring the entire program. Hosting is akin to piloting a kite—sometimes you tighten the string, sometimes you let it slack, and at times, you may even sever it. You need to manage the flow and intensity.”
The much-anticipated celebrity reality show “Pati Patni Aur Panga” is set to premiere on Colors TV on August 2. The thrilling roster of couples includes Hina Khan, Rocky Jaiswal, Gurmeet Choudhary–Debina Bonnerjee, Rubina Dilaik–Abhinav Shukla, Avika Gor–Milind Chandwani, Sudesh Lehri–Mamta Lehri, Geeta Phogat–Pawan Kumar, and Swara Bhasker–Fahad Ahmed.
