Chennai, Nov 29 (NationPress) Renowned director Suresh Krissna, famed for his collaboration with Superstar Rajinikanth in hit films like 'Annamalai' and 'Baasha', expressed on Saturday his desire to be reborn as a director if given another 100 lifetimes, to celebrate Rajinikanth's cinematic legacy and hopefully helm another 'Annamalai', 'Baba', and 'Baasha'.
In a heartfelt message on his X timeline, he shared, "Dear Rajni. Sir, your statement about wanting to be Rajinikanth even across 100 lifetimes touched me profoundly. If I were to experience 100 lifetimes, I would wish to be a director again, to cherish your films, and hopefully direct another Annamalai, Baba, and Baasha. (sic)"
Recently, the talented director, recognized for his humble demeanor and remarkable films, expressed joy over Baasha being selected for a screening at the 56th IFFI in Goa.
He conveyed his gratitude on X, stating, "I am honored that BAASHA has been chosen for the 56th IFFI, Goa, which is celebrating 50 years of Rajinikanth Sir's legendary journey. It is a timeless blessing."
Currently, the legendary director is engaged in creating 'Anantha', a spiritual feature film centered around Sai Baba.
For those unfamiliar, 'Anantha' is being produced by Girish Krishnamurthy and stars Jagapathi Babu and Suhasini Maniratnam in leading roles.
During the recent music launch of the film, Suresh Krissna expressed, "Words cannot describe my joy today. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Girish for bringing this project to life. Having directed numerous commercial films, I perceive this task on Sai Baba as a divine challenge that should also resonate commercially."
The director shared an inspiring miracle story from 2009.
"A friend aspiring to create a biopic on Baba took me to Puttaparthi. When I stood before Baba, he gazed at me and asked in Telugu, ‘Where have you been all these years?’ I was moved to tears. Two years later, Baba attained samadhi. Time passed, and one morning, Baba appeared in my dreams. That same day, my friend mentioned they had been discussing making Baba’s film with me," he recounted.
Suresh Krissna noted that shortly thereafter, producer Girish approached him with the vision of crafting a film that devotees worldwide would celebrate and that even those unfamiliar with Baba would come to know him.
"I requested three days for reflection. However, at 3 AM the following day, inspiration struck me. In just one hour, the entire story flowed through me as if Baba himself was guiding me. The film narrates various real-life stories highlighting Baba’s miracles. Deva composed a song for the film in merely 10 minutes—truly divine grace! Every day of filming has revealed one miracle after another. I was fortunate to collaborate with a dedicated team. I genuinely believe 'Anantha' will resonate with every viewer's heart," he stated, filled with hope.
