New Delhi, Jan 5 (NationPress) On the occasion of the 73rd birth anniversary of the late Sushil Kumar Modi, who served as Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister, senior political figures from various parties gathered to honor the legacy of this esteemed leader. They reflected on his significant contributions to public life, his relentless battle against corruption, and his enduring impact on Bihar's development.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh praised Sushil Modi's political trajectory, noting that he emerged as a prominent advocate for justice and integrity within the BJP. He stated, “Sushil Modi stood as a formidable leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, unwavering in his opposition to injustice and corruption. Following in the footsteps of the late Karpoori Thakur, Sushil Modi championed social causes and maintained a profound connection with the community.”

In a heartfelt homage, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the Krishna Memorial Hall in Patna to pay his respects, laying flowers at Sushil Modi's portrait. Their long-standing political relationship helped to navigate Bihar through pivotal phases of administration and development.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha acknowledged Sushil Modi's skills in administration and his role in economic reforms, especially in the rollout of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). “As we remember him on this day at his constituency and workplace, we honor him alongside those who worked closely with him. As the GST Chairman, he laid a solid foundation for the business community, promoting transparency and ease in trade,” Sinha articulated.

Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also shared a tribute on X, mentioning the unveiling of a statue of the former Deputy Chief Minister in Patna on this significant occasion. “Today, we unveiled a statue of our esteemed leader, Sushil Kumar Modi Ji, in Patna in the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Ji, and floral tributes were paid in his honor,” Choudhary stated.

He further emphasized that Sushil Modi's legacy has left an everlasting impact on Bihar's advancement. “His contributions to the state's development will be remembered for generations,” the Deputy CM added.

Having passed away after a prolonged illness, Sushil Kumar Modi was a highly regarded figure in Bihar's political landscape. Renowned for his organizational skills, administrative expertise, and strong grassroots connections, he played an instrumental role in shaping the political and economic landscape of Bihar over several decades.
