Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Honors Sushil Modi on His Birth Anniversary

Patna, Jan 5 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, commemorated the birth anniversary of the late former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday.

Sushil Kumar Modi, who sadly passed away on May 13, 2024, was a key ally of Nitish Kumar and collaborated closely with him over the years. Their partnership was instrumental in formulating political strategies that reinforced the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)'s influence in Bihar.

“I had the privilege of working alongside Sushil Kumar Modi for many years. Today, I am here to honor his memory on his birthday,” Kumar remarked during the ceremony.

The Chief Minister participated in a gathering at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, where he was welcomed by Sanjay Gupta, the president of the Sushil Kumar Modi Memorial Research Institute.

CM Nitish Kumar was joined by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, among other distinguished leaders.

Following the tribute in Patna, CM Nitish Kumar traveled to Muzaffarpur as part of his Pragati Yatra. During this visit, he is set to lay the groundwork for multiple new projects and inaugurate completed ones in the district.

The Bihar government had earlier postponed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Pragati Yatra in light of the recent passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. His visits to Muzaffarpur on December 27 and Vaishali on December 28 were delayed as a sign of respect.

The Pragati Yatra resumed on Saturday with a visit to Gopalganj, where Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid the foundation for various development initiatives, such as a new Industrial Training Institute (ITI) College, the Gopalganj to Mirganj bypass road, and the restoration of the 32 km Saran embankment. A total of projects worth Rs 140 crore were inaugurated or had their foundation stone laid in Gopalganj.

This yatra highlights the Bihar government's commitment to development and connectivity throughout the state, with the Chief Minister actively monitoring progress and engaging with the community.
