Chennai, Nov 19 (NationPress) On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the South India Organic Farming Conference, hosted by the Tamil Nadu Organic Farmers’ Federation at the CODISSIA trade fair complex located in Coimbatore.
During his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of sustainable agriculture and expressed his happiness in witnessing farmers embracing traditional natural farming practices such as Panchagavya, Jivamrut, Bijamrut, and Achhadan. These methods not only maintain soil health but also eliminate chemicals from crops and reduce farming costs.
"Natural farming equips us to tackle climate change. It enhances soil health and protects people from hazardous chemicals. This event is pivotal in this regard," stated PM Modi.
The Natural Farming Summit garnered positive recognition from agricultural experts and farmer communities, who noted its potential to further organic farming practices nationwide.
A multitude of farmers present at the Organic Farming Summit expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister for his promotion of natural farming, deeming it a “beginning towards a healthier and disease-free life.”
Murugesan, a local farmer, commented, "Having practiced organic farming for 13 years, I am confident this initiative will inspire more farmers to adopt natural farming techniques.”
