Jammu, Nov 27 (NationPress) Authorities in the Jammu district of J&K announced on Thursday the apprehension of a teenager suspected of being involved in online radicalization.
According to officials, the Jammu police have detained a 19-year-old individual who is considered a significant suspect in an ongoing investigation related to online radicalization.
“The Jammu Police have arrested a 19-year-old male, originally from Reasi district and currently living in the Bathindi area of Jammu, who is emerging as a primary suspect in FIR No. 331/2025 u/s 113(3) BNS registered at Police Station Bahu Fort," officials stated.
“Initial investigations indicate that the suspect has been radicalized online and was allegedly contemplating a terror act. It has been revealed that he was in contact via mobile with specific numbers located in Pakistan and other foreign nations. The suspect's digital devices have been confiscated for examination and analysis, and extensive questioning along with a thorough investigation is underway,” officials added.
The radicalization of educated and otherwise privileged youth poses a significant threat to the peace and stability of J&K, with implications reaching across the nation.
The exposure of the Faridabad white collar terror module, which included medical professionals from the Valley and beyond, has taken even the families of those involved by surprise.
It is not solely the misinterpretation of religion that entices youth towards terrorism, but also the reckless statements made by political figures who seek to exploit religious sentiments for political gain.
Terrorism handlers consistently strive to sway young and impressionable individuals through the distortion of religious beliefs. These handlers portray other religions and ideologies as adversarial to the faith of vulnerable youth, drawing them into their schemes.
Such youth, with mindsets shaped by these influences, often become the pawns in the game of terrorism. Interestingly, no terrorist handler, whether operating from abroad or within J&K, has ever allowed their own offspring to become suicide bombers or armed militants.
