Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) National Working President Tejashwi Yadav launched a sharp offensive against the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar on 11 June, targeting it over rising unemployment, inflation, migration, and alleged corruption. The attack came at a gathering held at the residence of Rabri Devi in Patna to mark the birthday of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Key Allegations Against the Bihar Government

Tejashwi alleged that Bihar is witnessing a steep rise in unemployment, inflation, and out-migration, while law and order has deteriorated sharply. He claimed that criminals are operating with impunity and accused the state administration of misleading the public on core governance issues.

Yadav further argued that economic inequality is widening — with the rich becoming richer and the poor becoming poorer — and held the NDA dispensation responsible for what he described as deepening administrative irregularities.

Rishu Shree Case and Alleged Cover-Up

Referring specifically to the Rishu Shree case, Tejashwi alleged that attempts are being made to shield senior officials from accountability. He claimed the government is deliberately diverting public attention toward peripheral issues — such as disputes over government bungalows, security arrangements, and symbolic political controversies — rather than addressing substantive governance failures.

He also alleged that youths who have taken to the streets demanding employment and their rights have been met with police action, including lathi-charges, which he described as an assault on democratic protest.

Challenge to Samrat Choudhary and the Women's Assistance Promise

In a direct political challenge, Tejashwi called out Samrat Choudhary for a public debate, asserting that political leadership must be evaluated on concrete development outcomes rather than rhetoric. He questioned the status of an alleged government promise to provide women with financial assistance of ₹2 lakh, demanding accountability on the undelivered commitment.

Lalu Prasad's Birthday and the Education Jibe

Speaking on the occasion of Lalu Prasad Yadav's birthday, Tejashwi described his father as a 'messiah of the poor' and a symbol of social justice, saying his political journey continues to inspire party workers across Bihar.

Tejashwi also responded sharply to remarks made by senior Janata Dal (United) leader Vijendra Yadav regarding his educational qualifications. He stated that he has never concealed his academic background and countered by questioning the credentials of NDA leaders — including, he alleged, those of the Prime Minister. In a pointed remark, he referred to Nishant Kumar, expressing sardonic confidence that the Education Minister would eventually designate him an engineer too, in the same manner, he alleged, that a minister became a professor.
