Hyderabad, April 13 (NationPress) Addressing the worries raised by Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar following the Nashik IT company incident, Telangana's Director General of Police, B. Shivdhar Reddy, emphasized on Monday that the state's police force is unwaveringly dedicated to fostering a secure, inclusive, and harassment-free atmosphere for all citizens.
“We advocate for a society built on harmony, dignity, and mutual respect. The diversity of Hyderabad—comprising millions of professionals from various backgrounds, religions, castes, and regions—is integral to its development,” the DGP shared on X.
The police chief acknowledged the concerns presented by Bandi Sanjay.
He highlighted ongoing efforts through initiatives such as the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC)—a distinctive partnership between police and industry—where law enforcement actively collaborates with organizations, HR departments, and communities to enhance workplace safety and accountability.
“Proactive steps, including security audits for female employees, hostels, and PG accommodations, along with complimentary SheShuttle services and Margdarshak—your support in distress—working closely with SHE Teams, provide continuous assistance, particularly for women in the workforce,” he stated.
“Our systems are designed to be robust, responsive, and equitable. The fully operational Women Safety Wing, the innovative SheTeam concept, and the Bharosa Centre ensure that every complaint is treated with utmost seriousness and acted upon without delay,” he added.
The DGP reiterated that Telangana Police will persist in collaborating with citizens, communities, and the industry to uphold the principles embedded in our constitution.
MoS Bandi Sanjay expressed on Sunday that, following the Nashik corporate jihad incident, Telangana cannot afford to remain passive and await its turn.
“Hyderabad is home to millions of IT professionals. Their workplaces should foster careers, not coercion, harassment, religious discrimination, exploitation, or covert pressure networks. I call upon Telangana’s DGP to convene an immediate meeting with the heads of major IT firms, particularly their HR teams. Stringent accountability must be implemented. No complaint should be ignored. No victim should feel isolated. No management should turn a blind eye,” the BJP leader urged.
“Numerous employees are already reporting incidents from their workplaces on social media. These warning signs must not be disregarded. Company leaders, HR personnel, and managers are encouraged to prioritize employee safety and dignity, promote open reporting, and take every concern seriously and fairly. We will continue to monitor these issues on our end as well,” the MoS added.
