Hyderabad, Dec 21 (NationPress) The government of Telangana, in partnership with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), is set to undertake a mock exercise focusing on flooding and industrial incidents at 24 distinct sites this coming Monday.

Several districts have been selected for this simulation, which will take place in coordination with various line departments, overseen by District Collectors and other local stakeholders, under the guidance of senior officials from the state headquarters.

This mock exercise will occur simultaneously across all districts to evaluate scalability and coordination, according to an official announcement made on Sunday.

The flood scenario simulation is scheduled for the daytime, running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., while the industrial accident simulation will happen in the evening, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., in the chosen districts.

Special observers from the NDMA will be present to identify any shortcomings or gaps that arise during the exercises.

The flood mock exercise will take place at 19 locations in the districts of Khammam, Warangal, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Hyderabad, Suryapet, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nirmal, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, and Hanumakonda.

In Hyderabad, the mock exercise will be conducted along Necklace Road and at the View Point by the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake, right in the city's heart.

For the industrial accident simulations, locations have been chosen in the districts of Sangareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, and Nalgonda. These exercises will be held at various industrial sites, including Aurbindo Pharma, Indian Oil Corporation, NATCO Pharma, Divis Laboratories, and Reddy Labs.
