Hyderabad, Dec 9 (NationPress) The government of Telangana has officially launched the Vision 2047 document, setting a bold aim to elevate the state to a $3 trillion economy by the year 2047, with an interim goal of reaching $1 trillion by 2034.
This document outlines a comprehensive strategy to fulfill these ambitious targets, primarily through the establishment of three sector-specific regions: CURE (Core Urban Region Economy), PURE (Peri Urban Region Economy), and RARE (Rural Agri Region Economy).
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy presented the vision document at the concluding session of the Telangana Rising Global Summit, held at the forthcoming Bharat Future City.
The CURE area is delineated by the 160-kilometre Outer Ring Road (ORR), which is intended to become a Net Zero services sector metropolis.
The new Regional Ring Road (RRR) will encompass a larger, 360-kilometre circuit to link essential peri-urban regions and several Tier 2 towns within the state. The zone situated between the ORR and RRR will focus on manufacturing, known as the PURE region, while the area beyond the RRR will foster agriculture and green initiatives, termed the RARE region.
This vision document also aims to ensure equitable growth, benefiting all demographics, including youth, women, farmers, and marginalized communities.
A key aspiration is to embed sustainability in all sectors while pursuing a Net-Zero pathway by 2047.
Hyderabad and Telangana plan to embark on several transformative projects to compete globally, not just with neighboring states or cities. Key projects include Bharat Future City, Musi River Rejuvenation, a Dry Port, a 12-lane expressway connecting the Dry Port to Krishnapatnam Sea Port in Andhra Pradesh, and bullet train corridors linking Hyderabad with Bengaluru and Chennai (via Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh).
The government has also committed to creating manufacturing zones between the ORR and RRR, establishing a Regional Ring Road, radial roads to link the ORR and RRR, a Regional Ring Railway, green power for agricultural lands, integrated townships, green energy hubs, and promoting electric vehicle adoption.
The Congress government, which has been in office for two years, emphasized that it has moved from ad-hoc decisions to a policy-oriented approach.
Other strategies to achieve this vision include excellence in governance, ensuring delivery, establishing a knowledge hub, fostering inclusive and sustainable welfare, and promoting cultural growth.
This initiative is founded on one of the most extensive citizen consultation processes, engaging all 33 districts, with over 65 percent of feedback from the youth.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy noted that around 400,000 people contributed their suggestions online for the vision document.
He stated that the document's primary goal is the empowerment of the underprivileged and economically disadvantaged.
“We aim to eradicate poverty by providing quality education and job opportunities to the youth of Telangana,” the Chief Minister asserted, highlighting the focus on education, irrigation, and communication.
To combat caste discrimination, the state government is establishing Young India Integrated Schools to provide education to SC, ST, BC, OC, and minority communities in a unified environment.
“For some leaders, poverty is like an excursion. I understand the struggles of the poor, having come from a rural background and attended a government school. My aspiration is to extend welfare to every impoverished individual,” the Chief Minister remarked.
Addressing concerns regarding rising unemployment due to inadequate education and skills, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of a Skills University aimed at enhancing youth skill sets to compete globally. A Sports University will also be developed with aspirations of winning Olympic medals.
