Mumbai, August 1 (NationPress) - The renowned American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla is set to unveil its inaugural charging station in India next week, located in Mumbai, as reported on Friday.
This facility will feature a total of four V4 Supercharging stalls designed for DC charging, alongside four destination charging stalls for AC charging.
The Superchargers are capable of delivering a maximum charging speed of 250 kW, with a cost of Rs 24 per kWh. In contrast, the destination chargers will offer 11 kW at Rs 14 per kWh.
According to the company, this station marks the first of eight Supercharging locations announced during the recent launch in Mumbai, with additional sites planned throughout the nation to enhance the cross-country travel experience for Tesla drivers.
Tesla's entry into the Indian market commenced in July with the introduction of its Model Y, which starts at Rs 59.89 lakh, alongside the opening of its first experience center at Maker Maxity Commercial Complex in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.
The BKC facility caters to various EV users by providing both fast-charging and standard charging options.
Tesla claims that the Model Y can achieve an impressive range of up to 267 kilometers in just 15 minutes when utilizing its Superchargers—sufficient for five round trips between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and the iconic Gateway of India.
As an added incentive for customers, Tesla will offer a complimentary wall connector with every new vehicle purchase, which will be installed at the buyer’s home.
