New Delhi, March 11 (NationPress) BJP MP Anurag Thakur labeled the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi as the "Leader of Propaganda" on Wednesday, accusing him of violating House rules and attempting to disturb parliamentary proceedings. Thakur emphasized that parliamentary operations should adhere to established regulations rather than any external "toolkit".

While opposing a resolution for a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Thakur charged the Congress chief with consistently breaching parliamentary standards.

"The Leader of Propaganda disregards the rules of the House," Thakur stated in his critique of Gandhi.

He asserted that the functioning of the House would be strictly based on parliamentary protocols. "This House will operate according to the rule book, not influenced by the toolkit of George Soros," Thakur declared.

The BJP parliamentarian also ridiculed the Congress party for what he labeled as errors in their attempt to oust Speaker Om Birla. Thakur pointed out that the notice they submitted contained multiple mistakes that the Speaker had to address.

"A party that has held power for 60 years should know how to file a notice. There were so many issues in the notice that the Speaker had to prompt them to amend it," he remarked.

Thakur attributed the blunders to Rahul Gandhi and accused him of breaking rules in his speeches earlier in the session.

He claimed that the Leader of the Opposition had also flouted regulations during his addresses in the House on February 4, 5, and 6.

"Some individuals enter this House lacking basic civility, common sense, and respect for the Constitution. They merely aim to create chaos here," Thakur continued his criticism of Gandhi.

Reminiscing about the decorum expected from Parliament members, he noted that newly elected MPs are typically instructed on proper conduct within the House.

"When we joined the Lok Sabha, we were educated on how to behave. Yet, one individual flouts all these rules, and that is the Leader of Propaganda," he remarked.

In a further jab at the Congress leader, Thakur referred to him as "FOMO Gandhi". "This is FOMO Gandhi; he fears being excluded from the headlines," he quipped.

Thakur also criticized Gandhi's remarks made during his overseas trips, alleging that the Congress leader remained mute in Parliament while speaking freely abroad.

"When Parliament sessions are in progress, he refrains from commenting and then travels abroad to voice his opinions. I reiterate, this House will function according to the rule book, not by the toolkit of Soros," Thakur reiterated.

The BJP MP questioned why Gandhi had not affixed his signature to the notice for the no-confidence motion against the Speaker.

"The manner in which the Opposition has schemed over the past 12 years to undermine and disrespect the Constitution and its institutions is well-known. Nonetheless, our democracy is robust, and the electorate is informed, countering such conspiracies and falsehoods," Thakur stated.

Thakur defended Speaker Om Birla, asserting that the presiding officer had ensured equal opportunity for Members from all factions to express their views in the House. "Whether from Congress or SP, all have acknowledged that Om Birla facilitated everyone to speak," he noted.

He further mentioned that even first-time MPs had been encouraged to engage in debates.

"First-time MPs; those who were denied a chance to speak even by their own parties were granted the opportunity by Om Birla. Praise for him is widespread. Every member is speaking positively of him," Thakur said.

Thakur alleged that Rahul Gandhi was displeased that other Congress MPs spoke during the debate without his consent.

"It seems that Rahul Gandhi was unhappy that a Congress MP contributed when he had not permitted it. If Rahul Gandhi was absent from the House and other members of his party got the chance, they are now trying to reclaim that opportunity," he stated.

The BJP parliamentarian further accused Opposition members of showing disrespect to the Speaker within his chamber.

"Under whose leadership did the leaders insult and demean the Speaker in his chamber? Which Congress leaders were involved in this? The Speaker maintained his silence," Thakur said.

Addressing Rahul Gandhi's comments abroad regarding the "Indian state," Thakur questioned the Congress leader's stance: "If your battle is against the Indian state, what distinguishes the Indian National Congress from ISI? If your conflict is against India, what sort of struggle is this?"
