Patna, February 27 (NationPress) - In a dramatic development, three individuals accused in a high-profile firing case have turned themselves in at a Patna court under increasing police pressure. The suspects, identified as Shneh Kumar, Raj Kamal, and Praful Kumar, hail from Ibrahimpur village situated under the jurisdiction of Naubatpur police station.
The trio is believed to be linked to a shooting incident that occurred on February 11 of this year in Ibrahimpur village, resulting in serious injuries to one individual.
This violent act stemmed from a personal dispute over land in the village.
In light of the gravity of the situation, a specialized raiding team was established by Bhanu Pratap Singh, the City Superintendent of Police (West) in Patna, and led by the Station House Officer from Naubatpur police station.
Deepak Kumar, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Phulwarisharif-02, reported that the team conducted relentless raids at several locations to apprehend the suspects.
Under mounting police pressure, the three accused opted to surrender before the sub-divisional court in Danapur on Thursday evening, as stated by the SDPO.
During the investigation, the court permitted police remand for Shneh Kumar and Raj Kamal for thorough interrogation.
As per the SDPO's account, during questioning, Shneh Kumar divulged that the firearm used in the incident was concealed at his residence in Ibrahimpur village.
Acting upon this information, law enforcement recovered a country-made pistol along with two live cartridges.
The firearm and ammunition have been duly confiscated as evidence.
Patna Police have initiated an additional case under appropriate sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Naubatpur police station concerning the recovered weapon. An ongoing investigation is in progress.
The SDPO reaffirmed that Patna Police are committed to a zero-tolerance approach towards crime, ensuring prompt and stringent action against perpetrators.
Meanwhile, the victim injured in the shooting is currently recovering at Patna Medical College and Hospital. Medical professionals are monitoring his condition, and he is expected to be discharged soon.
