Patna, Feb 18 (NationPress) In a notable operation on Tuesday, the police of Patna apprehended four suspects linked to a land dispute that turned violent in the Kankarbagh region.
The encounter unfolded on Ram Lakhan Path, where the accused fired shots outside a residence due to a disagreement over property.
Upon police arrival, the suspects had sought refuge inside a house belonging to Upendra Singh.
The authorities quickly secured the area and requested assistance from the Special Task Force (STF) to aid in capturing the suspects.
Utilizing advanced weaponry, STF operatives executed a thorough operation, resulting in the arrest of all four individuals following a one-hour standoff.
According to Patna's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Avkash Kumar, initial findings indicate that the conflict arose from a property dispute.
"The police are diligently investigating the incident, including analyzing CCTV footage to collect detailed evidence. The rapid response and coordinated efforts of various police units, under direct supervision, played a key role in resolving the situation without any injuries," Kumar stated.
He stressed that the police are meticulously reviewing the incident to compile thorough evidence.
"Currently, we are uncertain about the precise number of criminals involved. Interrogations of the arrested individuals are ongoing to identify their associates and true motives. Preliminary investigations have pointed to a land dispute," Kumar mentioned.
"The process of filing an FIR at the Kankarbagh police station is in progress," he added.
Kumar remarked that a significant hostage-like crisis was averted thanks to the prompt actions of local police, the STF, and the Anti-Terrorist Squad. The area is undergoing a sanitization process.
"We have also deployed a dog squad and a Forensic Science Laboratory team to gather further evidence," he noted.
