New Delhi, May 28 (NationPress) Congress politician Pramod Tiwari fiercely criticized BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, calling for his prompt recall from a foreign delegation following his recent comments about the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Tiwari accused Dubey of dishonoring India on international soil and distorting the nation’s unity and policies for personal political advantage.
“He must be urgently recalled from his foreign assignment. His actions are portraying to the world that we lack unity. His understanding appears superficial, as if he hasn’t even properly studied history,” Tiwari asserted.
“Limited knowledge is perilous. It seems evident that the foreign ministry did not adequately prepare him,” he added.
Tiwari further cautioned that no Indian representative should harm the country’s reputation abroad.
“No government representative can insult India while on foreign soil. He cannot criticize India’s policies. Whether we agree with the current government’s policies or not, they represent the nation officially,” he stressed.
The Congress leader indicated that in his effort to challenge Congress, Dubey had overstepped his bounds and inadvertently opposed the nation itself.
“In his pursuit to oppose Congress, he has begun to oppose India. The government of that time was still the representative of the country. Legally, it represents Mother India,” he remarked.
On Saturday, Dubey targeted Congress, claiming that during Indira Gandhi's leadership, India consented to international arbitration in 1968, leading to the loss of 828 square kilometers of the Rann of Kutch to Pakistan, despite winning the 1965 India-Pakistan war.
Tiwari also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent push for promoting ‘Made in India’ products.
“He has held office for 11 years; what has stopped him from creating a new export-import policy?” Tiwari questioned.
“You are the first Prime Minister who travels abroad to campaign for elections,” he added.
Tiwari further addressed India’s escalating trade deficit with China.
“Why have you granted permission to Beijing? Their imports are surging, while our exports are plummeting, and imports from China are skyrocketing. This reflects your government’s ineffective export-import policy,” he stated.
Regarding the caste census, Tiwari credited Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for compelling the government to take action.
“This is the third occasion Modi ji's government has conceded to Rahul Gandhi. The LoP asserted in Parliament that a caste census should be conducted, and now it is underway. I commend Rahul Gandhi for this.”
