Chennai, Sep 15 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled an array of initiatives dubbed 'Sewa Pakhwada 2025', a nationwide fortnight dedicated to community service and outreach from September 17 to October 2.

This campaign aims to honor the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.

As stated by Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson and Sewa Pakhwada State Coordinator A.N.S. Prasad, this movement will feature 75 key events throughout the state, focusing on the promotion of service, self-reliance, and social advancement.

Under the leadership of state BJP president K. Nainar Nagendran and campaign convenor Vinoj P. Selvam, this initiative will stress the significance of 'Vocal for Local' and 'Swadeshi' principles.

BJP officials have indicated that the fortnight will emphasize the necessity of purchasing local goods, empowering artisans, and bolstering entrepreneurship, especially in the context of global trade challenges such as recent US tariffs.

On September 17 and October 2, Khadi purchases will be encouraged as a representation of rural empowerment and sustainable growth.

The Swachhta Abhiyan will commence at every booth on September 17, with party workers and citizens engaging in cleanliness initiatives. Blood donation camps with a target of collecting at least 75 units in each district will be organized, coinciding with Vishwakarma Jayanti. Additionally, free health check-up camps will be set up to assist underprivileged communities.

Other notable activities include exhibitions highlighting the life and contributions of Prime Minister Modi, tree planting campaigns at the booth level, and the establishment of 'Namo Streets' in various districts to promote ecological sustainability.

Welfare initiatives such as the distribution of assistive devices for individuals with disabilities and awareness programs on clean water and sanitation will also be part of the plan, with events focusing on youth as well.

A 'Modi Vikas Marathon' will take place on September 21 in 75 major cities, followed by sports festivals from December through January under the themes of Viksit Bharat and Drug-Free India. A short film about PM Modi’s sacrifices and achievements will be showcased in theaters from September 17 to 24.

The BJP has stated that with the involvement of central ministers in the Tamil Nadu campaign, Sewa Pakhwada 2025 will not only celebrate service and social harmony but also set the groundwork for the party’s commitment to establishing an NDA government in the state by 2026.
