Chennai, Dec 24 (NationPress) The Tamil Nadu BJP president, Nainar Nagenthran, is calling for an urgent compensation of Rs 30,000 per acre for farmers impacted by Cyclone Ditwah. He criticized the ruling DMK government for its apparent indifference towards the suffering farmers in the delta regions, citing a significant delay in relief efforts following the cyclone's devastation.
In a pointed statement, Nainar highlighted that numerous farmers in various delta districts faced severe crop damage due to the cyclone's heavy rainfall and strong winds, yet they have not received any compensation from the state.
He contended that the delay in relief has thrust many farmers into dire financial situations, revealing what he termed the government’s negligence towards the agricultural community.
