Shivamogga, Oct 30 (NationPress) Tragically, three individuals lost their lives while another suffered severe injuries after a goods vehicle collided with a tree early Thursday morning in Shivamogga district of Karnataka.

The victims have been named as Asadulla (35), Firoz (33), and Sadiq (31), all hailing from Tavare Chatnalli.

The driver, Irfan, was critically injured and was transported to Meggan Hospital in Bengaluru by local residents.

This incident took place within the jurisdiction of Shivamogga Rural Police Station while the victims were on their way back from Balehonnur after finishing carpentry work in the goods vehicle.

The authorities believe the accident may have occurred due to the driver falling asleep at the wheel.

Following the incident, police have initiated a thorough investigation.

In another unfortunate event on the same night, a medical student from KRIMS Medical College in Karwar lost his life, and another was gravely injured after their motorcycle collided with a buffalo that unexpectedly appeared on the road near Mashem in Goa.

The deceased was identified as Adarsh Poojari (23), a third-year MBBS student, while the injured student is Raunak Chawla.

They were riding from Canacona to Karwar when the accident occurred, resulting in Poojari being rushed to Canacona Community Health Centre, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Earlier, on October 26, a container lorry lost control and overturned into a ditch, leading to the deaths of two workers instantly and injuring four others near Siddaiyanadoddi in Anekal taluk on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

In this incident, Sriman (25) from Andhra Pradesh and Srinivas (28), the lorry driver from Jharkhand, were the casualties.

The lorry was speeding downhill when it lost control and plunged into a ditch, trapping the deceased workers.
