Moscow, Oct 8 (NationPress) Three individuals lost their lives and numerous others sustained injuries during a Ukrainian shelling and drone assault on the Belgorod border region of Russia, as reported by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on Wednesday.
According to preliminary reports, the Maslova Pristan settlement in the Shebekinsky District was targeted. Gladkov communicated via Telegram that three people perished while one sustained injuries, noting that a social facility suffered partial damage, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
The governor detailed that the Ukrainian armed forces launched strikes on civilian areas within the Belgorod region, deploying over 110 unmanned aerial vehicles and discharging more than 20 munitions within the last day.
Residential zones in the Grayvoronsky District experienced hits from 16 drones and nine rounds of munitions, he stated.
In the village of Moshchenoye, six individuals, including a child, were injured due to a projectile and drone attack on a truck. A four-year-old girl was transported to the regional children's clinical hospital for evaluation, and fortunately, barotrauma was ruled out, according to him.
Six adults were admitted to the hospital, while one of the injured is receiving outpatient care, Gladkov added.
Another civilian suffered injuries from a drone strike on a vehicle and is currently hospitalized, with a private residence also sustaining damage, he mentioned.
Gladkov emphasized that several other locations throughout the region were subjected to assaults by Ukrainian drones and other means, resulting in multiple injuries.
