Hyderabad, June 26 (NationPress) A tragic incident occurred when a Sub-Inspector and a constable from the Andhra Pradesh Police lost their lives after their car was struck by an unknown vehicle in Telangana's Suryapet district on Thursday.
The collision took place on the national highway close to Durgapuram, just outside Kodad town.
Authorities reported that both the SI and constable died instantly, while two other individuals sustained injuries.
The fallen officers were named Ashok and Jeevan Blesson, serving at the Alamuru Police Station in the B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh.
They were en route to Hyderabad when an unidentified vehicle collided with them from behind near Kodad town. Following the incident, the vehicle fled the scene.
While the SI and constable perished at the site, two others, including another constable, were injured and transported to the government hospital in Kodad.
In response, police have initiated an investigation to track down the vehicle involved in the crash.
Andhra Pradesh's Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha expressed her condolences regarding the loss of the two officers.

The bus, filled with 40 devotees traveling from Hyderabad to Srisailam, reportedly flipped over after the driver lost control due to brake failure, hitting two oncoming vehicles.
Several devotees were injured and were taken to a local hospital in Domalapenta.
