Hyderabad, Jan 1 (NationPress) Celebrations for the New Year took a tragic turn in Hyderabad when one individual lost his life and 15 others fell ill following a late-night gathering.
The unfortunate event transpired in Bhavani Nagar, located under the jurisdiction of the Jagadgirigutta Police Station, in the Medchal Malkajgiri district of Cyberabad.
A group of 17 friends marked the New Year with a party at the Bhavani Nagar Welfare Association, indulging in Biryani and alcohol.
Upon returning home after midnight, they began to feel unwell. Tragically, one of them, identified as Pandu (53), died before reaching the hospital.
The remaining 15 individuals were subsequently admitted to Narayana Malla Reddy Hospital.
Authorities suspect food poisoning may have caused this tragic event. Police have initiated an investigation and registered a case.
